Dusan Vlahovic aims sly Arsenal dig after Juventus transfer amid Cristiano Ronaldo decision

Dusan Vlahovic has said that the decision to sign for Juventus was an "easy choice" amid Arsenal's transfer interest in the 22-year-old.

The Gunners identified the Serbian as their top January target but he eventually moved to Turin.

After agreeing to terminate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract so that he can complete a move to Barcelona on a free transfer, Arsenal have left themselves with only two recognised strikers in the squad in Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

And to add extra salt into the wounds, Vlahovic has stated how happy he is at his new club, and confirmed that it was an easy decision to make despite interest from the Premier League.

"I am thrilled and proud to have signed with Juventus. A glorious club. I am ready to give my best for the team and obtain great results. I want to thank Juventus President and all the people that brought me here," Vlahovic said during his unveiling press conference, via Football Italia.

"There were many rumours about foreign clubs, but the choice was easy because the club and I have a similar DNA. Fight and suffer when needed. I think it’s part of my mentality as well, so the choice was not difficult."

Vlahovic has picked the No.7 jersey at Juventus but he isn't feeling pressured by the fact that it used to be Cristiano Ronaldo's number in Turin.

"The No.7 jersey represents nothing. All the numbers are important here. I chose it because it’s the closest to No.9," Vlahovic added.

"I am here to help my teammates and reach our targets. The shirt number is not important. Determination and commitment are what matter the most. I don’t care about the rest. The most important thing is to win games."
