Dunnes, Aldi, Tesco among supermarkets to issue 4-day closing times warning to all Irish shoppers

The October bank holiday is here, meaning supermarkets across Ireland have made changes to their usual opening hours.

Anyone looking to stock up on Halloween supplies should check their local shops operating hours in advance.

Many have issued a four-day warning so shoppers don't get caught out.

The October bank holiday Monday falls on October 31 this year, meaning many shops will be operating with reduced hours. However, the majority of shops are not expected to close.

They may be closing earlier than normal though, so it's best to note down any changes to your local supermarket's operating hours.

Lidl

Lidl stores across Ireland operate Sunday hours on bank holidays. The usual opening hours for bank holiday weekends are:

Friday and Saturday: 8am until 10pm

Sunday and Monday: 9am until 9pm

Dunnes Stores

Dunnes Stores will be operating as normal on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while many will follow their usual Sunday opening hours on bank holiday Monday.

These vary from store to store so you can check out the official website for more information on your local supermarket.

Tesco

Tesco opening hours across the country are due to remain as normal on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the majority implementing their usual Sunday hours on bank holiday Monday.

Customers are advised to check their local store with the online locater to see what time it opens and closes.

SuperValu

Each SuperValu will likely be operating as normal on Friday and Saturday, while implementing their usual Sunday hours on bank holiday Monday.

Opening hours for SuperValu stores vary depending on each shop so you can check out the official SuperValu website for your local store's opening hours.

Aldi

Aldi stores across Ireland operate their weekend hours on bank holidays. The usual opening hours for bank holiday weekends are:

Friday: 9am until 10pm

Saturday, Sunday and Monday: 9am until 9pm

Marks and Spencer

Marks and Spencer stores are likely to be open on bank holiday Monday, but operating at their usual Sunday hours. These vary from store to store so you can check for your local one here.
