A teenager has been arrested in Co Tyrone after an incident in which one man received stab wounds to his foot.
The incident is reported to have taken place at Lisnahull Gardens in Dungannon on Wednesday night.
According to police, the man in his 30s was hospitalised after attempting to break up a fight between two males in the area.
A 17-year-old was arrested soon after on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
He remains in police custody, while police are appealing for information on a second male involved in the alleged attack, who was described as being 5’9” tall and wearing a black hooded top.
"Police in Dungannon are appealing for information following an incident at Lisnahull Gardens on Wednesday 2nd February," a police spokesperson said.
"It was reported at around 10pm that a man aged in his 30’s was attacked in the street by males after he attempted to break up a fight between the two males.
"The man sustained a number of stab wounds to his foot as a result of the incident and required hospital treatment for his injuries.
"A 17 year old male has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and is currently in police custody assisting officers with their enquiries.
