Tannadice sporting director Tony Asghar has confirmed Dundee United are close to agreeing contract extensions with key man Ian Harkes.
Defender Lewis Neilson is also poised to sign a new two-year deal, while discussions are also at an advanced stage with player of the year Harkes.
The pair are out-of-contract in the summer, while new deals have also been offered to youngsters Flynn Duffy and Finn Robson.
Asghar said: “I am continuing discussions with several players to prolong their stay at Tannadice and we hope to provide a further update on those negotiations soon.”
United confirmed goalkeeper Benjy Siegrist, Kevin McDonald, Adrian Sporle, Florent Hoti and Max Biamou will all move on at the end of their contracts.
On-loan striker Marc McNulty will also go back to Reading for a month, while midfielder Dylan Levitt will also head back to Manchester United.
Tannadice chiefs are still hoping to get Levitt back for next season, either permanently or back on loan.
They are waiting to see if the Red Devils are going to extend the Welshman’s contract.
“We’d like to place on record our gratitude to all players who are moving on,” Asghar added.
“They have all played a part in the continuing success of the club in their own unique way both this season and in previous years.
“I believe Dundee United will also have left a positive impression on all these players too. They will always be welcomed back at Tannadice as we wish them all the best in their future careers elsewhere.”
Youngsters Nathan Cooney, Rhys Caves, Lennon Walker, Shaun Brown, Dom Naglik and Sam Lovie are also leaving.
United have also opened pre-contract discussions with Livingston ’s Alan Forrest and will also do the same with Zander Clark, after St Johnstone ’s relegation play-off with Inverness.
