We’ve all come to expect some magnificent theatre at the Dundee Rep.
It’s an absolute given that you’ll have a special evening every time you step through its doors.
Less well known, though, is the Rep’s fantastic bar and brasserie.
Described as ‘your ideal destination for lunches, intimate dinners and celebrations’ the restaurant is constantly serving up some super tasty treats.
And recently Rep bosses have invited locals along to sample its brunch and lunch menus.
As they say on the theatre’s website: “Our first-rate chefs believe that food should be fresh, tasty and served with flair.
“We offer a stylish blend of classic and modern dishes, mouth-watering sides and delicious desserts.”
The two menus offer vegetarian and gluten free options and are served from 11am to 4pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
The restaurant is also open for dinner on performance evenings.
Some of the daily brunch treats include French toast served with bacon and maple syrup and the ever popular toasted gravlax bagels with salmon, cream cheese, spring onion and fried egg.
Other choices include English muffins with roast cherry tomatoes, spinach, poached eggs and a mornay sauce or fluffy blueberry pancakes with sliced honey bananas and drizzled honey.
If you’re looking for a more substantial bite, the Rep’s lunch menu has something for everyone.
The Bulgar wheat salad with roast red pepper, tomato, pumpkin seed, grilled haloumi and lemon and thyme vinaigrette is especially tasty.
And if you’re looking for a bit of meat, the Tandoori Chicken Wrap with herby yoghurt, lettuce, pepper and onion is proving to be a real favourite with customers.
