Police have caught nearly 40 drivers in a major crackdown on the A9.
The officers were targeting commercial vehicles on one of Scotland’s most notorious roads.
Specialist road traffic teams from Perth and Dundee teamed up with other agencies at Broxden, near Perth, yesterday.
They were working alongside colleagues from the Scottish Partnership Against Rural Crime, Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency, Perth and Kinross Council Trading Standards, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and HM Revenue and Customs road fuel team.
During the operation over 80 commercial vehicles were stopped and checked.
A spokesman confirmed that 38 offences were identified, with seven vehicles being prohibited for being in a dangerous condition or drivers’ hours offences.
One vehicle was found to be running on red diesel.
The spokesman stressed that Police Scotland “is committed to working partner agencies to influence road user behaviour and make Scotland’s roads safer.”
