I love my bestie, Denise van Outen, to absolute bits.
Since I came out, I’ve been so glad to have her as an ally but she’s ALWAYS getting me in trouble when we film Celebrity Gogglebox.
Her filthy sense of humour rubs off on me and we regularly get told off for making X-rated jokes.
Bosses have to spend ages editing our segments before they air so we’re lobbying for a late-night version of the show.
I reckon we can make it happen too.
We aren’t bitchy but we are both cheeky and have a glint in our eyes. We like to be naughty.
I mean, who doesn’t?
I replaced Denise’s ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall on the hit Channel 4 show.
And earlier this week, she went public with her hot new man Jimmy Barba, six months after dumping Eddie.
In my opinion, the way Eddie treated her was really unfair.
Denise was trying to put on a brave face but I could tell something was wrong.
She is a strong old bird though and she got through it.
She doesn’t take any crap and I respect that.
For me, personally, Denise is the ultimate gay icon and ally.
Not only is she a strong, independent woman – which gay men love – but she’s also loyal.
Denise is the kind of friend you can tell anything to and know she will never judge you.
She is the kind of girl-bestmate every gay guy needs.
I really hope it all works out with her new man Jimmy.
I’ll be taking him out for dinner to make sure he’s good enough for her. She deserves all the happiness in the world.
