Everton hero Duncan Ferguson has revealed why his beloved Toffees passed up the opportunity to sign Norway sensation Erling Haaland for £2million when he was a teenager. Haaland continues to take the Premier League by storm after Manchester City won the goalscoring lottery this summer.
Nurtured at Byrne FK, Molde and RB Salzburg, the 22-year-old took his status to whole different level at Borussia Dortmund and City promptly splashed out £51million for his services. He has started to repay that price tag with a staggering return of 22 goals in 16 games already this season.
Haaland is currently on the treatment table with a minor injury, although he should return for City against Fulham this Saturday afternoon at the Etihad Stadium (3pm). But had things turned out a little bit differently, it could have at Goodison Park where Haaland made his name as one of the most prolific frontmen in Europe.
