Over the last week, Love Island contestants Olivia Hawkins and Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown have been at the centre of drama in the South African villa. On Monday, January 23, the pair came to blows in an explosive row over semi-professional footballer Tom Clare.
The scenes saw Olivia storm off in tears and call Zara a "b***h" after the model told the actress and ring girl: "Do you think I flew 11 hours from England to p**s you off? Get over yourself Liv, get over yourself."
Tensions grew after Zara called Olivia the most "two-faced" Islander during a party game, but viewers at home have been questioning whether the pair knew one another prior to entering the show, suspecting the feud is actually to do with something on the outside.

And now, dumped Islander David Salako has addressed rumours that his co-stars actually knew each other before entering the villa. While answering fan questions in a TikTok video, the 24-year-old claimed his fellow Islanders had discussed the topic when filming the ITV2 show.
Speaking directly to the camera, David replied to a question that read: "Did Olivia and Zara talk about that they knew each other outside the villa?"
"Yeah, this is something that was discussed in the villa, so, they told everyone; I think Zara told everyone that she knew Liv and Liv confirmed," David explained. Olivia and Zara have since put their beef to bed, but that hasn't stopped fans from questioning their argument.
Following his explanation, David’s comment section was then flooded with people who were desperate for the pair's full backstory to be revealed.
"Okay but what’s the backstory," wrote one person, as another said, "It's so confusing tho. why didn't they just show us then.”
"How are you going to tease us like that! We need more info, how do they know each other what’s the history for the tension," another said.
