Dumfries sports shop boss behind bars after sexually assaulting two younger women at his home

A sports shop boss is behind bars after sexually assaulting two younger women at his home.

Christopher Allison struck at the house in Dumfries in 2016 and then again three years later.

The 41-year-old got to know both from working at a shop in the town.

Allison was convicted of sex attacks on the women following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.

He was cleared of raping one of them.

Allison was remanded in custody pending sentencing next
month.

Prosecutor Michael Macintosh told jurors: “You may think Christopher Allison has a modus operandi, a playbook.

“Putting himself in alcohol fuelled social settings... and disregarding their right to say ‘no’.

“You may have gained the impression that he thought he was untouchable.”

Allison first struck in December 2016. His victim was only 18 at the time.

Jurors heard how the sex attacker groped her, leaving her upset. When she later confronted him, Allison simply told her: “Dry your eyes.”

In September 2019, his second victim recalled being drunk at his home.

The woman said she remembered her underwear being pulled down and her trying to yank it back up as she lay on a couch.

She told police: “I could not really speak.

“I could not move.”

She challenged Allison the next day and he started sobbing — claiming that he had to stop drinking. The first victim later learned what happened to the other woman and police were alerted.

Allison, still of Dumfries, denied the accusations.

He claimed to have had consensual sex with the second woman in his bedroom.

Allison was found guilty of two charges of sexual assault.

The accusation that he raped the latter victim was deleted by jurors.

Lord Beckett adjourned the case for reports.
