People in Dumfries and Galloway are being urged to go to organised fireworks displays.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has issued the plea in the run-up to Bonfire Night on November 5.
Last year, there were eight reported attacks on crew members across Scotland, with firefighters responding to more than 370 bonfires around the country during an eight our period on November 5.
And in the four weeks leading up to the occasion, crews attended more than 880 deliberate fires.
Deputy Assistant Chief Officer, Alasdair Perry, said: “Attacks on our firefighters are completely unacceptable and are carried out by a small minority.
“We know that our crews have a lot of support within our communities. We want people to enjoy themselves at times of celebration but we want them to do so safely and think of others, including our crews who are working hard to respond to emergencies. Bonfires and fireworks go hand in hand at this time of year, and we advise people to go to an organised event wherever possible and follow the fireworks code.”
Meanwhile, Police will be running Operation Moonbeam to help keep people safe on the Bonfire Night.
