Parks in Dumbarton and Alexandria have been nominated as the best in the UK.
Balloch Country Park and Levengrove Park are in the running to be crowned the UK’s favourite park 2022, with voting open until 12pm on Thursday, August 18.
Residents are being urged to show their support by voting for their local park.
The UK’s Best Park Award allows the public to vote for their favourite local green space.
Levengrove Park, Balloch Country Park, as well as Dalmuir Park in Clydebank. are among 45 parks across Scotland to be put forward.
The parks with the most votes in each of Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland will be named National Favourites and the overall winner of the UK’s Favourite Park 2022.
SNP MP Martin Docherty-Hughes said: “I’m delighted that three of West Dunbartonshire’s brilliant parks are up for national awards and being recognised as amongst the best in the country.
“Dalmuir Park, Balloch Country Park and Levengrove Park are much-loved public spaces and enjoyed by local people and visitors of all ages.
“In the run-up to ‘Love Parks Week’, July 29 to August 5, I’d urge residents to show support for West Dunbartonshire’s wonderful parks by voting for their favourite online via the Fields in Trust charity’s website.”
Whilst Dumbarton MSP Jackie Baillie commented: “These vital parks have been a lifeline to the community in recent years and continue to be a place where people of all ages can go and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
“I am absolutely thrilled that they have both been shortlisted and would encourage everyone to make sure their vote is cast.
“It would be such a fantastic honour if either Balloch Park or Levengrove was named the UK’s Favourite Park and would certainly be well deserved.”
