Dujon Sterling Rangers latest as Michael Beale addresses transfer links

Michael Beale has addressed Rangers' transfer links with Dujon Sterling.

We told you earlier this week how the Chelsea defender, on loan at Stoke, was poised to become the club's first signing of the summer rebuild.

Beale is preparing to overhaul his squad at Ibrox heading into next season.

And the 23-year-old is on the verge of joining his Gers revolution when his contract expires at Stamford Bridge next month.

The versatile right-back has made 28 appearances so far this campaign while on loan at the Potters.

Stoke are keen to keep hold of the Englishman, but Rangers have stolen the march on their rivals to sign him.

But Beale wouldn't be drawn in on the deal too much at this stage out of respect for the other clubs involved.

Asked directly about Sterling, Beale said: "There's a lot of speculation and names, lots of good players which is nice that they're being linked with us but until anything's concrete we don't want to talk about any individual players.

"Out of respect for their clubs and the players as well."

Asked then if he remembers coaching the player at Chelsea, Beale responded: "Yeah but not since 07/08 since I saw him.

"He's a good player but I don't want to say much more than that."

Auston Trusty is another name heavily linked with a move to the Ibrox club, along with Luis Palma.
