Dujon Sterling insider tells Rangers to exploit 'unbelievable' trait as Beale told 3 transfer uncertainties need solved

Michael Beale has been told to exploit Dujon Sterling's pace and versatility - as the Rangers boss is told to sort out the futures of three stars.

The right-back is the club's second summer transfer window arrival after Kieran Dowell, as a major rebuild commences in a bid to win back Premiership supremacy. Ibrox favourite Alex Rae was Reading assistant boss during the right-back's loan spell at Stoke from Chelsea last season and knows what his former club have at their disposal.

But with Glen Kamara and Borna Barisic having a year left on their deals alongside John Lundstram, Rae wants Rangers to avoid a situation like they did this term when Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent left for nothing. He told the Sunday Post of a busy summer ahead for Beale: "I'm pleased Michael Beale is getting his work done early - and has already been dubbed the new Calvin Bassey. It's vital to shape up the first- team squad as quickly as possible. I like the fact Dujon Sterling has been brought in.

"When I was at Reading last season, we came up against Stoke City. Dujon caught my eye. He is powerful and has unbelievable pace. If he hits the ground running then it will be a great sign for what's to come.

"There are many, many good players in the English Championship. It's a good market for Rangers to shop in. Dujon is a right-sided defender and can also play in a three. That gives the manager extra flexibility with his formation and tactics.

"It's also important that John Souttar is fit and available. He is a fine central defender, modern-day player. He can be a main player for Rangers. I'm excited to see how the defence is going to line up in the pre-season games.

"I also think the club should make decisions with the futures of John, Glen and Borna. Are they going to be offered new deals or moved on? Lessons need to be learned from what happened with Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos. Letting players go into the final year of their deals is not the way to do it."
