A 67-year-old Arizona real estate agent lost his job within days of being duct-taped to his first-class seat during a violent American Airlines meltdown, showing how fast a filmed mid-air outburst can end a career in the smartphone era.

Arthur Layne Lundeen, of Tucson, was fired by Long Realty days after being restrained on American Airlines flight 618 from Dallas-Fort Worth to Newark on 3 September. He now faces criminal charges and a federal investigation.
