Dubliners to hold solidarity walk on Royal Canal in honour of Ashling Murphy

The residents of a north Dublin area are holding a solidarity walk in memory of Ashling Murphy on the Royal Canal.

Supporters are invited to meet at 3.50pm tomorrow at the Royal Canal bank Lock 5 by Des Kelly's pub.

The walk will go to Broombridge before going on to Phibsboro, taking approximately an hour and all are welcome to attend.

The organisers of the solidarity walk said: "The purpose of this walk will be to mark one week passing since Ashling's death and to show support for Ashling, her family, and all survivors and victims of gender-based violence.

"Please invite friends and family to join, including children and teenagers.

"It would be great to see as many members of our entire community as possible taking part."
