Dublin Zoo is slashing the cost of tickets to mark Endangered Species Day on Friday.
Human activity has caused the extinction of over 800 species since around 1500 with around one million now thought to be at risk.
The team at the zoo believes one step to achieving harmony between people and nature is increasing awareness about biodiversity and conservation.
