Dublin Zoo announces 'exciting' arrival of new species for first time in Ireland

‘Dhole Delight’ - Dublin Zoo has announced the arrival of a new species to the Zoo.

This is the first time in the zoo’s history that it has had resident dholes, and a first for Ireland.

Also known as the Asiatic wild dogs, dholes were once widespread throughout Central, South and Southeast Asia. Now, scattered populations of dholes live in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal and Thailand.
