A Dublin woman has said that she and her family have been left "heart-broken" after learning that their beloved missing pet has died.
Aoife Connolly feared that her pet dog, Koba, may have been snatched mere minutes after her mum left the house in Michael Collins Park, Clondalkin on Thursday morning. She told Dublin Live: "My mum was home at 11.25 am to get her bank card and she left. He was out in our back garden then.
"I think he went missing at 11.30am. Myself and my brother were home an hour later at 12.30pm and the gate was broken.

"So we’re not sure whether somebody had tampered with it or Koba was jumping at the gate and it came loose and broke off the lock." However, in a sad twist, Aoife revealed on social media today the tragic news that two-year-old Koba has passed away.
She wrote: "We got some news this morning and it’s not what we wanted. Koba has tragically passed away. Thank you so much to every single person that’s helped us over the past few days. We’re forever grateful for all the support.
"We’ll be taking a few days off social media now as we need some time to try and heal. Our hearts are broken."
