Dublin weather: Yellow warning issued by Met Eireann for 'very warm and hot temperatures' during heatwave

A yellow weather warning for very warm and hot temperatures in Dublin, Leinster and Munster has been issued by Met Eireann.

The warning is set to kick in on Thursday at midday and will continue until 6am on Sunday. It's on top of the weather advisory issued for all of Ireland that warns of a hot spell from Wednesday.

It is also expected that nighttime will also be "uncomfortably warm" throughout the heatwave. The advisory is currently in place and will continue until Monday.

The warning from Met Eireann says: "Very warm or hot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday with maximum temperatures generally of 27 to 29 degrees. Warm at night with temperatures generally staying above 15 degrees. Daytime temperatures may not be as high in coastal areas due to sea breezes."

Impacts that could be caused by the weather include:
• Heat stress, especially for the more vulnerable of the population
• High Solar UV index
• Risk of water related incidents

The forecast from Dublin from Wednesday says:

Tomorrow, Wednesday will be another dry and sunny day. It will be very warm with highest temperatures of 23 to 26 degrees. Winds will again be light, with a sea breeze developing in coastal areas in the afternoon.
