Many Dubliners are waking up to cloudy conditions, with heavy, thundery downpours on the way along with a risk of localised flooding in some areas amid weather warnings.
According to Met Eireann, it's set to be a wash-out day for most places across the country, with a Status Yellow rain warning in effect from 3am this morning until 3am on Monday. Some drier intervals may develop during the evening.
Humid and breezy with highest temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees as south to southeast winds increase moderate to fresh. Turning drier early in the night but remaining cloudy, with top temperatures between 15 and 16 degrees.
According to Met Eireann, the miserable conditions look set to make a major u-turn on Monday, with a high-pressure system set to dominate and bringing potentially the last taste of summer before the Irish autumn and winter kick in.
On Monday, after a mostly dry cloudy morning, a band of patchy rain will pass south and will break up as it moves through around the middle of the day. Good sunny spells will follow for the rest of the day, with top temperatures ranging from 17 to 20 degrees.
Monday night: Any showers will die out early, leaving a mostly dry night with long clear spells. A cooler night than recently with lowest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees in light northerly breezes.
Tuesday: It looks set to be a mainly dry day with long spells of sunshine. Fresher than recent days with highest temperatures ranging from 15 to 19 degrees, warmest in south in moderate northerly winds.
Tuesday night: Mainly dry overnight with long clear spells to start. Cloud will increase from the northwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 12 degrees in light northerly winds.
