Dublin weather: Met Eireann predicts patches of mist or fog with 'good spells' of winter sunshine

Met Eireann has forecasted patches of mist or fog for many parts of the country this morning, before mostly dry conditions predicted for the next few days.

According to the national forecaster, Dublin will enjoy mostly dry weather except for some patches of light rain and mist which is expected to clear and later give way to cloudy conditions with some sunny spells. Met Eireann said: "Today will be mostly cloudy over Dublin.

"Patchy light rain and drizzle will move southeastwards over the region. Bright or sunny spells will follow from the northwest this afternoon. Highest temperatures of 7 or 8 degrees with light southwest breezes veering northwesterly."

Tonight will be mainly dry with clear spells and some patches of mist or fog. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 3 degrees with a touch of frost in places with light to moderate southwest breezes.

According to Met Eireann, "mixed conditions" with a fair amount of dry weather is on the way for much of the country this weekend. There will be some patches of rain and mist, but these are expected to clear quickly.

Here's the rest of the forecast for Dublin:

Sunday

"A few bright or sunny intervals on Sunday morning. But it will become mostly cloudy with some patchy drizzle at times. Highest temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees with moderate southwest winds increasing fresh westerly later.

Sunday night

"On Sunday night, rain and drizzle will clear to the southeast and it will become dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees with moderate westerly breezes.

Monday

"Monday will be mainly dry with bright or sunny spells at first. Cloud will gradually increase and during the afternoon, rain and drizzle will develop in western areas. Highest temperatures of 8 to 10 degrees in mostly moderate west to southwest breezes.

"On Monday night, rain will become more persistent in the west and northwest and will move southeastwards across the country overnight. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds."
