Dublin weather: Heavy rain and blustery conditions on the way as 'unsettled' weather continues

It's set to be a wet, miserable start to the bank holiday weekend with Met Eireann forecasting heavy rain and unsettled weather throughout the day for Dublin.

According to Met Eireann, this morning and afternoon will be cloudy and blustery with showery rain moving northwards over the area. In the evening it will become drier, with clear spells and a few isolated showers.

It's set to stay mild with highest temperatures of 15 or 16 degrees, in a moderate to fresh and gusty easterly wind, becoming southerly later. Tonight will be breezy with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers, with lowest temperatures of 12 or 13 degrees in a moderate to fresh and gusty southerly wind.

Tomorrow: "Sunday will be breezy with sunny spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers will be heavy and there will be a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms.

"Highest temperatures ranging from 13 or 14 degrees. A moderate to fresh and gusty southerly wind is expected to ease by the evening, according to forecasters."

According to Met Eireann's overview it will be "unsettled with spells of wet and breezy weather" and temperatures staying above average for this time of year.

Sunday night: "Most areas will be dry with clear spells early on Sunday night but rain will move into the southwest and west overnight. It will become breezy again as moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds develop. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees."

Monday: "Monday morning will be wet and breezy as rain moves eastwards across the country, along with moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds. The rain will be followed by generally dry and sunny conditions, with light south to southwest winds, and will clear the east coast in the early evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees."
