The heatwave the country is sweltering through is set to last into next week and has a chance of being the hottest on record.
The mercury will stick to the low 20s before it begins to skyrocket towards the mid 20s to high 20s over the weekend. And one expert has warned temperatures may hit 32 degrees next Tuesday - just shy of Ireland's all-time record 33.3 degrees.
Weather expert Alan O'Reilly said: "This is the model Met Eireann use at medium range and it actually shows 32c possible next Tuesday!" The sweltering conditions are due to hot air pushing up from the south, Weather Alerts Ireland warned.
