Curry's has seen a massive 767% increase in the sale of fans and air coolers week-on-week during Ireland's mini-heatwave.
People have been eager to keep their homes as cool as possible during extremely mild nights and record-breaking, hot days. As most Irish homes do not have air conditioning, fans are the next best option.
Curry's said that the huge increase in demand was unprecedented but they are coping with lots of fans still left in stock. Head of Commercial, Jaimie Cantwell said: “With the hot and humid weather here, there’s no surprise that people are looking for ways to keep cool. Most homes in Ireland don’t have air conditioning, so fans are the next best thing.
