The fourth and final fixture of this weekend’s quarter-final line-up is, arguably, the most intriguing as old foes Dublin and Mayo lock horns in Croke Park once more.
In their most recent Championship clash, Mayo famously ended Dublin’s pursuit of a seventh consecutive All-Ireland title with an extra-time victory in the 2021 All-Ireland semi-final.
However, Mayo lost out to Tyrone in the final and bowed out of last year’s Championship at this stage following a disappointing showing against Kerry.
Bidding to win Sam Maguire for the first time since 1951, Mayo will have to do it the hard way once again after landing the Dubs in Monday’s draw.
Kevin McStay’s men clinched a narrow one-point win over Galway in Pearse Stadium last Sunday, but more will be required this weekend.
Dessie Farrell’s men have had one or two minor blips this season, but when they are on song, they have been devastating and topped Group Three following a 3-23 to 0-8 rout of Sligo last time out.
