People Before Profit TD Paul Murphy has claimed that he was assaulted by protesters outside the Dail this afternoon.
Mr Murphy was leaving Leinster House to take part in a separate protest with defective homeowners regarding apartments, when he said that he was "surrounded" by a group of people on Molesworth Street. Taking to social media, Deputy Murphy wrote: "I went out to join protesters in front of the Dail today who are campaigning for redress for apartment defects.
"I was surrounded by a crowd of far-right activists shouting in my face and with one kicking me. They consciously disrupted protests for children with additional needs, for rights for PhD students, for redress and for rights for security officers."

Dublin Live understands that Gardai came to Deputy Murphy's assistance and separated him from the crowd. Deputy Murphy said he has not yet decided if he will report the alleged assault to gardai.
It comes after there were multiple protests outside the Dail earlier today, with hundreds taking part in the protests concerning hare coursing, the cost of living crisis, alack of disability services for children, and more.
