A talented young Dublin singer is set to release a new video for his song to raise awareness about homelessness.
Kenan Flannery, 23, is from Cabra in Dublin and his brand new video for his song 'One Home' is set to debut on March 5.
Following on from the successful release of Manchester Streets last summer, which rewarded him Radio Wigwam’s Best Male Artist of 2021, Kenan Flannery began the journey of creating a moving and thought-provoking music video for his track One Home.
One Home was originally released in 2021 to wide acclaim, and has received airtime on radios worldwide and was played in Ireland on RTÉ Radio One , RTÉ XFM , Nova Radio and Sunshine 106.8.
Kenan's new video for 'One Home' was filmed and produced by Gary Maher.
Speaking about the inspiration behind his song, Kenan told Dublin Live that he wrote the song at the peak of the pandemic.
He explained: "One Home was written around the time where it felt like the whole world was on fire. Covid was at its peak, the Capitol in the US was stormed, and a blind eye was once again being turned to the thousands of homeless people on the streets of Dublin.
"Everyone seemed to be tense and up to each other's throats. One Home was penned with all the souls that fell on hard times during these times in mind.
Kenan added: "It felt like we threw love, care and compassion out the window and I hope that this song will make these values a priority in people’s lives again and that they can show them to the strangers they meet throughout their lives.”
Praised as having “a voice that hits you with the intensity of a hundred Irish poets and musicians”, Kenan Flannery's music is a fusion dance of his deep love for Americana folk music from the likes of Townes Van Zandt and Blaze Foley mixed with his Irish roots in storytelling and ballads inspired by The Dubliners and The Wolfe Tones .
