Multi-award winning hit musical Anything Goes comes to Dublin this summer to delight audiences with some of Broadway's most beloved classics.
The new production of Cole Porter and P. G. Wodehouse’s classic musical promises pure escapism when it arrives at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre, running from Wednesday May 18 until Saturday May 28.
The cast for the show has been announced ahead of its Dublin arrival and includes WhatsOnStage award winner Kerry Ellis (Wicked/We Will Rock You) as Reno Sweeney and Olivier award winner Denis Lawson (Bleak House/New Tricks) as Moonface Martin.
Joining them will be Simon Callow (Four Weddings & a Funeral/Amadeus) as Elisha Whitney and Musical Theatre Royalty Bonnie Langford (EastEnders/9 to 5) as Evangeline Harcourt.
Anything Goes follows two pairs as they set sail to find love, with antics ensuing aboard a boat travelling from New York to London.
As expected, this production will include beloved Broadway hits from the show including I Get A Kick Out of You, You’re the Top, It’s De- Lovely! and Anything Goes.
With the show being described by reviewers as the "musical equivalent of sipping one glass of champagne after another", the actors are excited about this particular production.
Kerry Ellis said: "This glorious show is classic musical theatre at its very best. Reno is an iconic character in musical theatre. I can’t wait to get my tap shoes on and share this fabulous musical with audiences in Dublin."
Denis Lawson added: "Anything Goes is uplifting, energetic, and hilarious – with an unforgettable Cole Porter score. Audiences are in for a real treat."
This production is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, whose previous production of Anything Goes won Best Revival and Best Choreography at the Tony Awards.
Tickets for Anything Goes at the Bord Gais start at €21 and go on sale this Friday February 18 at 9am via Ticketmaster.
