Aslan star Billy McGuinness has reignited his feud with Louis Walsh – admitting there’s no way he would have accepted the music boss as a judge on Dancing With The Stars.
The pair fell out live on television after Billy got into a blazing row with Louis and Linda Martin on The Late Late Show nearly eight years ago during a segment on selecting a song to represent Ireland in the Eurovision.
Billy had taken issue with Louis being on the panel because he was involved with managing runner-up Eoghan Quigg and winning act Kasey Smith.
The veteran rocker, currently on the celebrity dance show, said he would have had serious objections to Louis, right, being on the judging panel.
He laughed: “I probably would’ve thrown my toys out of the pram. I would’ve said, ‘He can’t be on the panel’.”
But Billy has attempted to bury the hatchet with Linda Martin after she called him an “odious little man” on live TV.
He insisted he would have had no objection to Linda being a judge, saying, “The hatchet is well buried, honest to god”.
He added: “When it was announced for Dancing With The Stars, everyone was going, wouldn’t it be great if Linda Martin was a judge. I’ve no problem with that.
“I was more getting at RTE for allowing Louis Walsh to be on the panel when he had managed one of the acts and he was involved in one of the other acts. I thought that was very unfair.”
At 61, Billy is the oldest contestant in this year’s show and is paired with the youngest, 19-year-old Hannah Kelly.
