Draiochta Dragons Quidditch, which is Dublin's first official Quidditch team, will host an open training session this weekend in Fairview Park in the hopes of recruiting more members.
Quidditch is a sport of two teams of seven players each mounted on a broomstick and is played on a hockey sized pitch.
The game will be familiar to Harry Potter fans as it originally appeared in the book series by J. K. Rowling but in recent years, it has developed into a popular worldwide sport.

Draiochta Dragons Quidditch is a Dublin based team that, due to the pandemic, has seen its numbers fall. They now hope to get a team together to eventually compete in international competitions.
One of the team's members, Marian, told Dublin Live that the sport is now much more than just an activity for fans of the Harry Potter books and movies, revealing that it involves elements of rugby, handball and dodgeball.
He also described the team's emphasis on inclusion and diversity, explaining that the team is welcoming all kinds of members with it being a mixed gender sport.
This Saturday, June 25 between 12pm and 3pm, those interested in the sport are invited to head along to the free training session to learn more about how to play and what's involved in it.
Those interested in attending should register on the sessions Eventbrite page. Brooms, balls and hoops needed for the game will be provided along with the coach.
Attendees will need to bring comfortable shows for playing in and sporty attire.
"You don't have to be a professional athlete to play quidditch," organisers said.
"This training session will focus on teaching you the basics of the sport, showcasing the fun of the game and getting your muscles a little workout."
The game from the Harry Potter books developed into a real-life sport in 2005 at Middlebury College in Vermont."
