A well-known Dublin pub has "quietly" closed its doors after 16 years in the business.
Customers were left heartbroken after Mulligans of Sandymount closed down over the weekend. The southside boozer opened its doors in 2007 and quickly went on to become fan-favourite.
It even earned the title of the top 10% of restaurants named on TripAdvisor worldwide in 2022. In a heartfelt farewell on Instagram, the owner said that the pub will operate as The Chophouse Sandymount as the new owners are set to take over.

They said: "Just to let you know that after 16 years in business, ‘Mulligans of Sandymount’ quietly closed its doors last night and whilst it was a tad emotional, I’m happy that I’ve left it in good hands with Kevin Arundel and his wife Jillian who will now trade as ‘The Chophouse Sandymount’, a BIG thanks for all your support over the years, fun times and great memories, time now for the next chapter."
People took to the comments to wish the staff well, with one person saying: "Thank you Ciaran for so many happy times and indeed delicious food plus a very special 50th." Another person added: "I miss this family pub. We spend such good times here. All the best."
A third person said: "Best wishes with the next chapter."
