A much-loved Kilmainham pub is ready to make a massive comeback after 22 months of restrictions and difficulties.
The Old Royal Oak's management said that they cannot wait to welcome locals back to the bar stools after numerous lockdowns.
The historic pub had made some tough calls over the past few months in an effort to protect staff and customers from the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
They posted: "After 22 months and 2 weeks, you are cordially invited to sit at the bar counter this Friday from 5pm."
Management later added that they would be reluctant to take down the safety screens yet and are taking things slowly but surely.
The family run bar were not able to reopen the week after Christmas due to worries about the welfare of staff and punters.
Thankfully, this week will be the start of better times for the pub that was established way back in 1839.
Locals were thrilled to hear the news.
One person said: "It would be rude not to!"
Another wrote: Great news."
A third simply said: "Yahoo!"
