A popular Dublin pub has hit back at a 'Guinness influencer' after a spate of negative reviews online.
Well-known west Dublin haunt the Strawberry Hall have been providing travellers and locals alike with a welcoming smile and a creamy pint for many years. But unfortunately, the pub admitted they dropped the ball when one pint reviewer, All Things Guinness, came in to sample their wares six months ago, owning up to serving them a "bad pint".
However, the admin of All Things Guinness has not been able to let the one-off bad pint go, as they have continuously reshared and commented on the pub's social media posts with complaints. One such example from Tuesday saw the reviewer share a picture from the pub of two lovely-looking pints settling on the bar saying: "I wish my pint would have looked as nice as that on my last visit".

The account even appeared to counteract a positive review of the pub from three years ago, complaining about the poor pint. And after the latest social media slamming, the pub management decided to bite back in a lengthy post.
They wrote: “There are many Guinness review/advisor type pages in circulation, and we believe they are a bit of craic and steer Guinness lovers in the right creamy direction. However, when @Allthingsguinness gave us a review six months ago and unfortunately for us it's a bad one - we take it on the chin.
“It's not our standard but the ball was dropped that day. It was not enough for this blogger to do the review and leave it at that. This particular blogger then went to @GuinnessAdvisor and found their extremely positive review of Strawberry Hall from 182 weeks beforehand to again throw in their negative voice about their experience in the comments.
“Now today, when we go about our daily business to communicate with our customers and post some creamy pint shots, here comes @Allthingsguinness back again to share our post following it with the one bad pint that they once got in the pub. We would like to know what the aim is here.”
Pub bosses implored that they be left alone, saying that many like them are struggling across the country amid the cost of living crisis. They said that mudslinging does no one any favours in the pub community.
They added: “Many pubs across the country are small independent businesses that support local jobs and the local economy. We do our part to provide our customers with a good experience and we are generally known as a great spot for Guinness.
“So, we didn't get it right one day; that is a shame, but for a page to go out of their way to damage our reputation and attempt to deter people from coming to our bar is outrageous. Our pint is €5, we pour it well and our team are sound.
"Pubs are struggling all across the country in the current climate, the community is out to support each other but listen, don't forget about this person’s bad pint they got one time six months ago, you won't forget as I'm sure we'll all be reminded again soon.”
May people left supportive comments on their post. One said: "I love that pub, due a visit soon. Anytime I visited the Guinness was great and staff very polite."
A second added: "I’m from Kildare and ever since I had a pint there before Christmas I do nothing but rave about the Guinness I had! Keep up the good work." A third said: "Fantastic pub and staff, we are not all perfect but every day we strive to be, keep doing what you're doing." And a fourth wrote: "Fantastic family run pub. One of the best pints you'll get anywhere. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend it to everyone to visit, especially around Christmas. One of my favourite pubs."
