The now much-richer player has officially collected their quarter million cheque from Lotto HQ after handing in their winning ticket.
They outlined that the choice they made in buying a scratch-card was made "purely on impulse."
The unnamed punter stated: "I pulled into the petrol station on the way home from work as I didn't want to land home too early - I'd only be lumped with more jobs! I decided to mix things up a bit and go for a different scratch card to the one I might normally go for."
The fortunate winner was left ecstatic after realising they'd just pocketed a quarter of a million euro. Staff members working at Circle K in Kilnamanagh celebrated the massive win through a photo op shot outside the petrol station.
Each shop that sells a winning ticket also receives 10% of the jackpot as well as having the honour of helping customers get rich.
Another Dublin Lotto player also landed €50,000 through the National Lottery app. The player earned their winning through the Cash Showdown game however, they only realised their good luck had paid off later on, after checking their ticket.
