Dublin jobs: Irish Rail is hiring train drivers and the wages are pretty great

Job hunters take note as Irish Rail is looking to hire train drivers and the wages aren't too bad.

The transport operator is recruiting Irish Rail and DART drivers in Dublin, Cork, Drogheda, Dundalk, Limerick, Galway, Mallow, Portlaoise, Sligo, and Waterford for up to €60,000 per annum.

Applicants must meet European Train Driver Licensing requirements with a minimum of 9 years full-time education and must be over the age of 20.

The ideal candidate will be calm in emergency situations, have excellent communication skills, follow rules and procedures, and will be willing to work various shift patterns, including weekend work.

Successful applicants will undergo a train driver training programme as part of their induction.
