Go Ahead Ireland is hiring for Dublin bus drivers and night mechanics to join their team with some excellent benefits.
The company is currently looking for bus drivers to work out of their Ballymount depot, as well as HGV shift mechanics to work the night shift. For bus drivers, salaries can reach up to €40,000 and for mechanics they will be paid €26 per hour, working 40 hours a week.

Bus Drivers
According to Go Ahead Ireland, they are accepting applications from B category (car) and D category licence holders. For those who don't have a D category licence, they will receive training to put them through the test. Go Ahead also confirmed that applicants in training will also be paid during this period.
The position is full time and pays between €32,000 and €40,000. HGV mechanics night shift
According to Go Ahead's job advert, they are looking for HGV mechanic night shift workers to work out of their Ballymount depot on a full-time basis. The role is to support the preventative maintenance and vehicle examination team, ensuring the availability and reliability of a roadworthy fleet of vehicles to achieve operational requirements.
Mechanics will have to work from 8pm to 6am or 9pm to 7am for four days a week, and the position is full-time. Mechanics receive €26 per hour.
Key responsiblities include; performing routine safety inspections as trained in-house to Go Ahead Standards, perform Planned Maintenance and Corrective maintenance to a high standard, be comfortable around Auto electrics and general Fault finding, understanding of Euro 6 standards and sub engine equipment, be able to attend roadside break downs and assess each fault as they come.
Mechanics must also understand H&S rules and obey by these while conducting works, keep a safe and tidy work environmemt, and to act proactively in identifying and any unsafe practices or safety risks in the organisation and reporting these through the appropriate channels
The required skills needed for this position include:
- quality repair and preventative maintenance skills
- minimum of two years working in a related field
- ability to understand and execute training and instruction
- relevant engineering qualification (Level 6 minimum, and a full clean B licence
