Dublin GAA has announced that Finbarr O’Mahony is to take over as the county’s new CEO later this year.
O’Mahony, from the St Patrick’s club in Palmerstown, has served on the county board executive and will replace the long-serving John Costello in the full-time role.
Costello announced his intention to retire from the position, which he has held since 1994, last April, having overseen a hugely successful era for Gaelic games in the county.
The Whitehall Colmcilles man will formally step down in October, with O’Mahony taking up the role from November 1.
“I congratulate Finbarr on his appointment,” said county board chairman Mick Seavers. “We wish him every success in the years ahead with the full support of the Dublin GAA community.”
