The incident which occurred at Swords Manor football club shows damage done to the side of the pitch by "local idiots" making the pitch unusable for the clubs members. The club will now have to fork out extra funds to pay for the repairs.

The club shared pictures of the damage on Facebook earlier today. They said: "This is what greeted us this morning as we arrived at our pitches. Another night of destruction by the local idiots."

The pitches are used for five-a-side games and are also in use for the club's Under-7, Under-8 and Under-9 teams.

The club also raged at the amount of money that will have to be spent on repairing the pitch. They said: "More money wasted on pitch repairs, money which should be spent on equipment for the kids."

However, the club assure their members that they will be back up and running soon. They said: "Pitches will be seeded and sanded by our volunteers today and hopefully back up and running as soon as possible."

Comments on the post were full of sympathy for the local amenity.

One person said it was "absolutely disgraceful," while another commented "soul destroying time after time. Another woman commented: "disgusting".
