Dublin Fire Brigade is mourning the loss of a former colleague who died last week.
Tributes have poured in for Cornelius "Con" Linehan who was a retired firefighter. The Finglas man spent his last moments surrounded by his loving family on May 19, 2023.
A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade said: "We were saddened to hear of the passing of retired firefighter Con Linehan. Con was on C Watch during his career and based in both Finglas and Tara Street fire stations."

Linehan will be laid to rest on Wednesday, May 24 in Co Meath. A notice on RIP.ie reads: "The death has occurred of Cornelius 'Con' Linehan at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Nora and devoted father of Sophie, Jonathan, Suzanne and Corinna.
"Cornelius will be very sadly missed and remembered with love by his children, grandchildren Alejandro, Lily, Elita and Éabha, brother Thomas, sister Dolores, family and friends.
"Removal on Tuesday 23rd May to St. Margaret’s Church, St. Margaret's, Co Dublin arriving for 5pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday 24th May at 10am, followed by burial in Dangan Cemetery, Co Meath.
"Those who are unable to attend the Funeral, please feel free to leave a message in the Condolence Book at the bottom of the page. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to St. Francis Hospice or the Irish Cancer Society."
