Dublin GAA fans were delighted as Jack McCaffrey returned to the field.
The flying half-back hasn't been seen in a Dublin jersey since the 2019 All-Ireland final. Since that game three years ago, McCaffrey has focused on other endeavours and hasn't been a part of the Dublin panel.
Dublin boss Dessie Farrell revealed a couple of months ago that the multiple time All-Ireland winner McCaffrey along with Paul Mannion would be returning to the squad for the 2023 season.

Last night, McCaffrey made his long awaited return to action in a Dublin shirt. He played in the Dave Hickey cup charity match as Dublin North beat Dublin South by 1-14 to 1-09.
And Dublin GAA fans were buzzing seeing McCaffrey back in action for the county side.
"More importantly the person in the no7 shirt," wrote one person on Twitter.
While another said they were "Extremely excited" at seeing McCaffrey back in a Dublin shirt.
"Massive," wrote another fan, "He's only 29."
"Jack McCaffrey back in action for Dublin last night. What a sight for Dublin fans!" said another person.
McCaffrey enjoyed a stellar career in the sky blue of Dublin prior to his hiatus. Between 2013 and 2020, McCaffrey won six Leinster titles, five All-Ireland titles, four National League medals and was awarded an All-star on three occasions.
