Dublin Canvas is on the look out for promising painters as they launch their annual competition.
The project first began in 2015 and involves people sprucing up utility boxes with their creative flair. The 2023 competition was launched on Monday, with people having until the end of May to submit their ideas for consideration.
Dublin Canvas confirmed there will be over one hundred canvases designated for successful applicants this year. Artists are encouraged to reflect on local areas in Dublin for inspiration before sending in their applications.

The project has resulted in many vivid creations across Dublin since its inception. An artist's depiction of wildlife in Leopardstown was among last year's winners, while a Game Boy inspired piece of artwork was also unveiled in Crumlin in 2022.
Dublin Canvas also allocates a budget for successful applicants to create their artwork. Painters can either receive a €250 euro grant and their painting materials through the project, or a €300 euro payment to cover their transport and meals if they supply their own art equipment.
The deadline for submissions is on Friday May 19. Successful entrants will paint their creations onto utility boxes at various traffic junctions between June and August.
Further information on Dublin Canvas is available on their website.
