Dublin Bus has announced the appointment of its new CEO Billy Hann.
Mr Hann joins Ireland's largest public transport provider in the role from 1 December 2022. He has been appointed following an extensive recruitment process.
Billy began his career with the Irish Aviation Authority in 1994 providing engineering support services to Air Traffic Control. In his 28 years working for the IAA he has held several senior management roles and was subsequently appointed as the Director of ATM Operations and Strategy.

He said: “I am honoured to be appointed as Dublin Bus CEO and I look forward to working with the Board and the talented team in Dublin Bus to deliver high quality bus services for the people of Dublin.
"I am deeply committed to supporting a culture of high performance driven by our people, whose skills, experiences and passion for our customers are central to the work of Dublin Bus. These are very exciting times for Dublin Bus, with a strong recovery in customer numbers, and the need to address the challenges posed by a changing climate."
The appointment was welcomed by the Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan. He said: "I am pleased to welcome Billy to his role as Chief Executive Officer at Dublin Bus and wish him every success as he takes on this challenge.
"I know that his extensive experience and skills will make him a good fit for this position as we look to further connect our communities with quality, reliable public transport and cut our transport emissions. I look forward to working with Billy as we continue to transform transport in our capital city.”
While Chairman of Dublin Bus Gary Owens praised Andrea Keane for her role as acting CEO. She will remain in the role until Billy takes over in December.
He said: "I really welcome Billy to Dublin Bus and the knowledge, experience and insight he will bring to the role and to the organisation. Billy’s considerable experience in the aviation sector, depth of international knowledge together with his strong corporate, strategic and operational expertise make him an ideal leader to deliver on the company’s strategic priorities.
