Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport was briefly evacuated this morning after fire alarms went off at a food outlet.
Passengers were moved from the terminal shortly after 11am following what airport operators daa described as a "double smoke alarm activation". Some shared footage on social media of passengers being ushered from the terminal as the alarm went off.
Others claimed there was confusion over the evacuation procedure. One person tweeted at the airport: "What’s with your evacuation procedure??? No staff to guide people, total confusion."

However other passengers seemed less concerned about the brief flurry of excitement, with one quipping: "Just about to go through security in Terminal Two departures when alarms sounded and we are all told to evacuate. Was it something I said?"
daa spokesman Kevin Cullinane confirmed to Dublin Live that fire officers have investigated the issue and given the all clear with passengers returned to the terminal.
He said: "Some passengers were temporarily moved in Terminal 2 while we investigated a double smoke alarm activation in a food and beverage outlet. The all clear has been given by the Airport Fire Officer and passengers have returned."
