Dublin Airport has shared a nostalgic throwback to The Beatles' only Irish gig that ended in chaos.
Exactly 59 years ago today, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr landed in Dublin to play two shows at a venue in Dublin city centre. The Fab Four took to The Adelphi Cinema on Middle Abbey Street for what would be their first and only gig in the Republic of Ireland.
Thousands of fans descended upon the city centre on November 7, 1963, to catch a glimpse of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. However, what was meant to be an enjoyable time turned into a riot that left people hurt, windows broken, and cars vandalised.

In 2018, the historic concert was commemorated with a plaque that was installed at the car park which used to be the site of the Adelphi. An image shared by Dublin Airport shows the Fab Four posing in front of the Dublin Airport building.
The caption reads: "59 years ago today, these (fab) four lads landed at @DublinAirport to play what would be their only ever Irish shows at the Adelphi Theatre in Dublin." They also shared a picture of a ticket from the first of the two shows.
