Everyone who's walked or rushed through Dublin Airport to try and get to their gate on time has weighed up one key question on that journey.
Is it faster to take the travellator instead of walking alongside it?
Thankfully, we now have an answer to the debate and it's thanks to the airport operators themselves.

As the Dublin Airport Twitter account explained: "It's a perennial airport debate: is taking the travelator any quicker than just walking as normal? We grabbed a stopwatch and popped along to one of Dublin Airport's travelators to find out once and for all..."
And the results are extremely interesting.
You can now tell your friends that it IS faster to take the travellators rather than powerwalk along with them.
The twitter thread continued: "The results are in: From start to finish, walking along one of our travelators took around 30 seconds. Walking beside the travelator, at the same pace of course, took around 37 seconds...
"Standing still, meanwhile, and letting the travelator do all the work took a grand total of 1 minute and 28 seconds."
Many will see these results as completely pointless, but the Dublin Airport Twitter did make a good point when concluding the thread.
They wrote: "Dublin Airport has a total of 21 travelators in our two Terminals, which together measure 809 metres in total. And while a 7 second time saving may seem small to some passengers, travelators can be a big help for tired and less mobile passengers."
