Queues in Dublin Airport today have been described as "insane" as lines extended outside the Terminal buildings.
Annoyed passengers slammed the scenes as a "hot mess" and a "health and safety issue" as queues reached as far as the short term car park.
Some of those travelling today took to Twitter to slam the delays, with one passenger saying it took her two hours to get to her gate.

She said: "I have global entry … that didn’t matter. Was almost 1.5 hours before we even got to that point. Everyone at that airport was saying it was unprecedented.
"No idea what was up but maybe the worst airport experience I’ve ever had? And that’s saying a lot!"
Another wrote: "@DublinAirport chaos yet again in Dublin. Security line literally going out of the building. Shame on DAA."
Another holidaymaker travelling today told Dublin Live: "It’s crazy queues from the car park to get through security and people checking in downstairs can’t get upstairs.
"The queue going down the glass tunnel into the car park. Health and safety issue there. Looks like we’ll have to camp overnight to make our flights."
When asked about the reported delays at the airport today, Graeme McQueen, daa Media Relations Manager told Dublin Live: "It's another busy Sunday at Dublin Airport, but queues are moving well at security screening with pass-through times this afternoon currently under 30 minutes in both terminals.
"We thank passengers for continuing to work with us as we move further into the busy summer season and remind anyone travelling in the days and weeks ahead to arrive at the airport in plenty of time ahead of their flight.
"Our recommendation remains to arrive at the airport up to two and a half hours before a short-haul flight and up to three and a half hours prior to a long-haul flight. Where possible, passengers should also look to check-in online in advance of travelling to the airport."
