A petition has been launched against a proposal to introduce a drop off and collection toll at Dublin Airport.
Fingal County Council has granted planning permission to the Dublin Airport Authority to construct new paid zones on the roads at Terminals 1 and 2.
The daa said the new system aims to 'reduce car journeys to and from the airport' and encourage the use of public transport.

A petition, which was launched just two days ago, has already garnered over 400 signatures out of its goal of 500.
The appeal has slammed the new proposal saying the airport is very "inaccessible" to many people due to the lack of good public transport options.
It goes on to say: "Some areas such as Ballymun, a mere 10 minutes from Dublin airport does not have a public transport route to the airport."
Fingal Senator Regina Doherty has also strongly criticised plans to place tolls in drop off and collecting areas at the airport terminals.
Senator Doherty said: “What the planners at Fingal County Council have just approved is nonsensical.
“That means that if I’m dropping off my son or daughter at the airport before they jet off for a weekend away, I’ll have to pay for the few seconds it takes them to take their suitcase out of the boot and head into the terminal.
“At a stage, following the pandemic, where more and more people are starting to go abroad again, it’s incredible that the authorities are even considering penalising something like that.”
