A Dublin Airport bound Aer Lingus flight was turned back to Washington Dulles after smoke was detected in the rear gallery of the aircraft.
The EI116 flight took off from Washington Dulles on Saturday evening but later turned back to the airport. Dublin Live understands the smoke in the rear gallery was due to an oven fire.
The flight landed safely back at Washington Dulles and was met by emergency services, which is standard protocol. Engineers carried out the necessary checks to clear the flight to take off again.

The flight later landed in Dublin two and a half hours after schedule. An Aer Lingus spokeswoman apologised to passengers for the inconvenience.
She said: "Aer Lingus flight EI116 operating from Washington Dulles to Dublin on Saturday 15 October, was required to turn back when smoke was detected in the rear galley.
"The aircraft landed safely in Washington Dulles Airport where it was met by emergency services as standard who along with engineers carried out the necessary checks. The flight then continued and arrived into Dublin with a delay of just under two and a half hours.
"We apologise to impacted customers for the inconvenience caused."
