Dublin Airport advice on how to beat the crowds ahead of Easter rush

Dublin Airport has issued a number of tips on how to avoid the crowds ahead of the Easter rush.

Over a quarter of a million people are expected travel in and out of the airport over the next few days.

daa is asking passengers to arrive up to 3.5 hours before their flight regardless of whether they're flying short haul or long haul.

But passengers due to fly from 8.30am onwards have been urged not to arrive into the terminals before 05.00 am so as to ease the pressure on the security regime.

They also warned against arriving earlier than 3.5 hours than needed saying it has resulted in increasing pressure at busy times over recent days and weeks.

Travellers have also been asked to check with their airline in advance of travelling to the airport regarding when check-in and bag drop-off opens and to plan their arrival at the airport based on that information.

Passengers are also encouraged, where possible, to check in for their flight online.

Security in Dublin Airport's Terminal 1 remains open on a 24/7 basis, while security in Terminal 2 is open from 04.00 am each day.

A spokesperson for the daa said: "daa has thanked passengers for continuing to work with Dublin Airport as it, like other airports all around Europe and the UK, builds back following the Covid pandemic, which effectively shut down the aviation industry for two years."
